New Puppet Story
Nut has been responsible for leading this project under NoiNon’s guidance and he’s done a great job! Two scripts were chosen for the ‘final round’: Jairus’ daughter, and David and Goliath. Now they have finalised the script for Jairus’ daughter and started practicing, and soon they will record the soundtrack. The other one will be finished later this year.
Please pray that the first puppet story will be ready to use in our outreaches when the new school year starts in a few weeks. Ask for supernatural inspiration for all aspects of the story; script, soundtrack, acting, background paintings…so that children will be excited to learn more about Jesus.
Team
Jeen is having a small operation on 9th May which requires three days at the hospital and around 10 days of recovery at home. Pray that everything will go as planned and that Jeen will heal quickly.
Noinon and Kanchana are attending Equip training 27-29 May: This is a children’s ministry training in Chiang Mai for experienced children’s ministry workers in leadership roles. It’s a great opportunity to meet and share with others from around the world, and take part in relevant and interesting workshops. Pray that this time will be good for both of them and they will get things that help them in their work at both Good News Team and Fahsai Club.
Saara’s family experienced God’s protection firsthand when Markus was driving his motorbike to work on a wet day. He hit a truck that suddenly turned in front of him and fell under it. Miraculously Markus didn’t even hit his head (he was of course wearing a helmet too) or get any other injury apart from a couple of broken ribs. Healing is a bit painful but he’s doing well, and we’re all so thankful nothing worse happened. Praise God!
Please pray for everyone in the Team: Noinon, Kanchana, Jeen, Nut, Paow, Bobae, Saara, and Valerie. When we work together daily, there are often some little things that can start to bother us and make relationships suffer. Pray that God would help us love each other, forgive each other and see things from the others’ point of view.
Outreach Preparation for New School Year
Please pray for our upcoming outreaches. So far there’s one planned for June, but details cannot be confirmed before the new school year starts at the end of this month. Pray that God would again guide our steps and open the right doors. Pray that Noinon, who’s the outreach coordinator, would be able to hear from the Lord if there are any new areas we should explore. Pray also for wisdom when looking for the right local church partners for each outreach.
New Team Logo in Progress
NoiNon asked our three youngest members to design a new logo we could start using this month in all our printed and digital media. Stay tuned!
Our new website is also now open at www.goodnewsteam.com. We will regularly update outreach news and prayer requests.
Naruethai (girl, 10): I really like your cartoon booklet. I just registered on your Bible course, and I would love to get all your cartoon booklets so that I can keep and read them.
Wisutthichon (boy, 13): my teacher was going to punish me for something I didn’t do. I prayed for God’s help and the teacher realized I hadn’t done anything. Thank you God for helping me! (Note: corporal punishment is still very common in Thailand).
Ratanaphon (girl, 10): It’s fun to study the Good News Team lessons, I get so much knowledge about the Bible. I like that but the lessons get quite difficult later on. I don’t have any personal experiences with God yet because I’m a Buddhist.
Waleephon (girl, 17): I want to have the same kind of heart that Jesus had, humble, loving, and forgiving.
Ganyathip (girl, 20): How do I know who’s the partner that God has meant for me?
Chanita (girl, 15): It’s always so exciting to get mail from the Good News Team. I’m so grateful that I got to know you and can learn more about God. My life has changed; I was short-tempered but now I can keep myself calm more easily.
Laddawan (girl, 13): I like to study because I learn more about Jesus. Some things are difficult to understand.
