Children's Magazine/Booklet
Thank you for praying for this. The children’s magazine/booklet is finally ready and has been sent to the printer! Inside we have for example some cartoons from our local and overseas talent, as well as games, puzzles, and children’s testimonies. (The photo shows the cover of the new magazine. The title says: "A Special Person")
Outreaches
Outreaches will take place in the Lomsak and Phu Tabboek area from 1-8 November. The Team is reaching around 2,000 pupils in three different schools; one school a day and up to six programs in each school. It’s already the time to tell the Christmas story using puppets.
Noinon and Kanchana are leading the outreach. Please pray that the Good News shared with the children and adults alike will continue to grow in their hearts and produce good fruit.
Updating Bible Lessons
Pray for the ongoing process of updating our Bible Lessons. During the past year the process has been slower than we initially hoped for. Now, however, we have been brainstorming some new ideas, and feel excited about the possibilities of these lessons. Jeen, Kanchana and Saara are doing this, and Tossapon will also help.
Follow Up
During the past month we have been sending a number of follow-up letters to children whom we haven’t heard from for a long time. Many children have already answered and expressed their gratitude for not being forgotten. This is one way to show the children that all of them are precious and important to God, and that we care about them. Please pray for the children who for different reasons have dropped out, and ask for the Holy Spirit to speak to their hearts and give them a hunger for reading God’s word.
Jib (girl, 16): I would like to use more time for prayer and reading the Bible but there always seem to be some obstacles, such as studies or chores that make me tired.
Wimonladda (girl, 11): Please tell me: is Jesus real?
Nuthakit (boy, 12): When we die, what becomes of us? Another issue; I have a problem with money. I try to save but I’m always out of money. I’m praying that God would help me with this.
Thanakon (boy, 12): After I asked Jesus to come to my life, I have become more confident. I praise God about many things he has done in my life. Thank you for the Bible lessons! They give me new viewpoints about many things.
Athon (girl, 12): Please advise me on how to communicate wisely with my friends. I’m very angry for something at the moment but would now like to speak about it with them.
Nusara (girl, 17): Thank you again for your letter and encouragement. The thing is, my mum often beat me when I was young. I didn't understand it, and I just buried the feelings in my heart. This has made it difficult for me to learn to love my mother. But I’m praying for that to happen one day.
Sukaphon (girl, 9): I don’t have any friends, I think nobody likes me. It feels that I cannot do anything to change the situation. How could I feel more positive about myself? It’s also hard for me to concentrate at school. Please pray for me.
Pawitra (girl, 12): I would like to start studying your Bible lessons very much! I have been interested to know more about Jesus for over a year now.
Nuthasit (boy, 12): The thing that makes me sad is that my mum and dad don’t know God yet.
Kittisat (boy, 12): Please pray for my dad; there was an explosion in the town where he lives and people think he did it. Please pray for my studies too, especially English. It’s so difficult for me.
Theerapun (boy, 14): My mum and dad don’t believe in God yet. What should I do?
Noraakon (girl, 12): My parents fight often. I’m praying that God would help them stop.
Nuthida (girl, 17): I still don’t know what I should study next. I’m not sure what is my favourite subject, or what I would like to become when I grow up.
Aaphon (girl, 17): I’m very stressed at the moment since there are many exams coming up. Often I feel very lazy, please pray that I can read enough to prepare for the tests.
Planning for 2016
We are now making plans for the next year. We need wisdom and guidance from God as well as courage to plan and make decisions for our ministry in 2016. We have been talking about some adjustments in how we use our time and resources; for example, we would like to do more outreaches.
Please pray that we find new, creative ways to reach out to the children and teens in this country and lead them to meet the Lord who loves them so much. This is also the time to plan our annual budget for 2016, and we need wisdom for that. Please pray for this task as well.
Christmas Outreaches
Fahsai Club: Kanchana is planning outreaches with the Fahsai club teens and young adults in December. Please pray for the planning and especially for the young people for whom this will be perhaps their first mission trip outside their community. Some of them also face opposition at home by their parents who are Buddhist, so they need courage and wisdom to stand strong for Jesus.
Good News Team: At the moment we are planning outreaches in the greater Bangkok area during 14 to 18 December. Please pray for guidance and all preparations needed. Please pray for unity as well; we see that it is often the unity among the Team that the enemy wants to attack when we are going to outreaches.
