Death of King
The past few weeks have been a very different time in Thailand after the respected and beloved monarch, King Bhumibol, passed away on 13 October at the age of 88. He had been on the throne for 70 years and was known for his devotion to the wellbeing of the nation. The country is dressed in black and white, and the atmosphere has been rather sombre with most events and celebrations cancelled. The strictest mourning period lasts for 30 days but as a whole it will be a full 12 months. Please pray for Thailand and its people.
Outreaches
Pray for all our Christmas themed outreaches that are planned for November and December. We may have to adjust the programme a bit because of the mourning period, so please ask for wisdom and insight for this. We have recorded the new script for the Christmas story and this week Noinon is working with the Entrance studio team to edit it. Everyone’s excited about this! After the soundtrack is ready, more practice is needed to get all parts of the story together.
Noinon, Nut and Pao have painted new background pictures for the Christmas story puppet show and they look great!
Students
At the moment we have about 6,000 active students. Pray for all these children and teens, and pray also for mailing the lessons so that children will keep studying even though the post often takes
time.
Pray for the precious children and teens whose letters you can read below. For many, we and you may be the only Christians who pray for them. Ask for wisdom and love for the Team members who respond to all the hard questions; Jeen, Corin, Tossapon and Nut.
Team
We are still hoping to get one more girl in our very male dominated team! Please pray that God would lead us in this matter. Especially it would be good to have more girl power on the outreaches to schools.
Pray for all of the team: Noinon, Kanchana, Tossapon, Jeen, Corin, Nut and Pao (the new intern). Pray also for Saara & Markus and Valerie, who is planning to visit Thailand again in the beginning of 2017.
Fahsai club
Pray for the weekly meet-ups on Saturdays, that the team would have insight and creativity to plan the teaching and other activities. Ask for wisdom to answer children’s questions and guide them in their process towards God. Pray for the children and teens who have already made the decision to follow Jesus.
Outreach to Chainat 28 Nov-2 Dec
Please pray for the team as they travel to this province in Central Thailand. Ask the Lord to open the hearts of children and teachers in the schools, and also ask for protection for the journey.
Kongphob (boy, 14): Once my friends started asking me why I was such a bad student. This made me feel sad. But with God I became more resilient and started becoming better at school. Now my friends ask me to help with their homework!
What must I do to get to be in Heaven with the Lord? Please tell me. I’ve got another question: what if someone who already believes in God turns back to their old ways? Does God still love them?
Chantisaa (girl, 11): Thank you for sending me the Bible! I’m proud that I can study the Good News Bible lessons.
Waleewan (girl, 11): Thank you for teaching me to know God more and be closer to Him. I feel worried because my mum and dad don’t believe in God yet.
Warunee (girl, 13): How can God be so good to us? I know I’m not such a good person, I lie easily and I’m not nice towards my friends. I feel very bad about my behaviour. Please pray that I could become stronger in the Lord.
Suwanan (girl, 11): Please pray for my mum who is ill that she would get better.
Waraphon (girl, 15): It feels great to know that I’m important to God and that He can help me in everything.
Khang (boy, 11): I’m so happy to be child of God. Please pray for my mum, she is not well.
