Christmas greetings from our team in Thailand to you and your family. May God abundantly bless you as you celebrate the birth of His Son Jesus, the Saviour of all who put their trust in Him.
My recent visit to Bangkok was excellent! I heard so many testimonies of healings, miracles, and life-giving encounters with Jesus. DJ Vilai at Pathumthani church is a new Christian, glowing with joy and hungry for opportunities to talk about her new faith. She works at a government radio station, more known for its political propaganda than life-giving testimony. But Vilai asked for, and was given, permission to run a daily, one-hour radio programme featuring “my listener’s stories”. Stories aka testimonies! As a result of this radio programme, at least one Buddhist is turning to Christ every single day. Please pray for them.
Please also remember our teams in Thailand this Christmas. They are taking every opportunity to share the good news in schools, towns, villages and homes where the name of Jesus is being heard for the very first time. Stretch your faith and pray for large numbers of new followers of Jesus!
Prasert is holding a Christmas outreach on 12th December in Jorakae Sampan village in Supanburi. There are no believers in that village, and they have never heard the good news before. Around 30 kids and their families will attend the outreach. Please also pray for the Christmas programme at Tungsonghong on 19th December.
Last Saturday Mrs Tik and her friend came to Top Kids and stayed listening to the Christmas story for the whole morning. There are six children in this family, and they are all really interested in knowing more about Jesus. Please pray for them.
Chuenjit is running outreaches on Christmas Day at the youth remand prisons in Pathumthani and Ayudaya provinces close to Bangkok. Two girls became Christians at the Ayudaya Remand Centre last week. Please pray for a good response to these outreaches.
Thanks for praying for Chuenjit’s story-telling seminar in Laos last month. Fifteen pastors and leaders joined the training. To practise telling the Christmas story, they went out onto the streets – and led three young men to Christ. Now they are excited to tell the story back in their own villages.
John and Nok are continuing to work towards their goal of seeing disciple-making movements all over Thailand. Their strategy is to work intensely with every new believer, training them to show love and testify of their new life in Christ among their network of family and friends. Christmas is an excellent opportunity for these new believers, including those who have come to Christ through the radio programmes, to visit their families and tell them the Christmas story.
Pastor Udom and the believers at Muangtong Church have been praying at 5.30am for seven days each month during the whole of 2015, specifically praying for Thai Buddhists to come to know Jesus. Please pray that there will be good fruit at the Christmas outreach on 20th December.
Thank you once again for your partnership in the work in Thailand – it makes a huge difference!
