Thank you for praying for our first board meeting with our new governing board: we had a very good first meeting! Markus worked hard on the technical front to make it work with three people attending through an online connection, and it went well (in the photo from left Kanchana, Chaloem—the chairman, Noinon, Markus, and on the screen Valerie, pastor Matthew, and Chatchai, Saara took the photo).
The first project for the board is to start the process for the Good News Team to be officially registered as an organisation with charitable status. Up till now we have been registered under the covering of the Full Gospel churches of Thailand. Establishing our own Foundation for the Team will give us a more official status when we contact schools and also make all financial details safer in the eyes of the law. This process will take several months and also some funds, and we ask for your prayers so that it would go smoothly.
We are so excited to show you the complete first set of our new updated Bible lessons! It took a long time and some trial and error, but now they’re here and we love them. These have also been uploaded to an online platform (at the moment it’s Google Classrooms) and we pray this will help more young people study the fundamental teaching in these lessons.
Pray for all young people doing our Bible correspondence lessons, that each one keeps on with the lessons. Also pray so that more students would begin the online study option. Pray that God would reveal his love for them through his word and that they would receive answers to their prayers.
Here are some letters that we received in September:
Panyawat (boy, 10): Jesus sees the value of all children and shows his love and grace to them. I’m praying that Jesus would help me in my studies.
Nattahathai (girl, 10): Please pray that I could have a strong health.
Nattanaree (girl, 10): I would like Jesus to bless me and help in my studies so that I can have a good future.
Nattanicha (girl, 10): Please Jesus heal my little sibling from cancer. Help my family to be happy.
Phandila (girl, 13): Jesus save me from sin, and be my doctor when I’m not well. Please give me wisdom to my studies.
Thank you for praying for our media team! Please continue to pray for them and especially the video clips the Team makes and that many many students would find them when we post them for example to Facebook and other media channels. We also need wisdom to find the best ways to promote our media content. The photo shows Nut shooting a video where Manao and Bai advertise our Bible course.
Praise God, we now have some outreaches coming in November and December. The dates are: 4-7 November in Chaiyaphum and 10-12 November in Srisaket. These will be one day English Camps at schools, so we will have more time to connect with the students and the at the end of day we’ll do our normal program for them. This year Thai schools were unable to receive any visitors until now, so we are really excited about this possibility. On these visits we will have more time with the students which is something the Team had been talking about lately. The Team along with Jani-Matti and Sofia have planned an engaging and fun English program for the schools, which we will do as well as our normal gospel program. We are trusting in God’s guidance in every step along the way.
In December we also have 2 Christmas outreaches planned, in Nakhon Pathom and in Maha Sarakam. More about those later.
Please pray that these outreaches can take place and that nothing will stop the Team from taking the Good News to these schools and communities. Ask God to soften the hearts of students and teachers so that they are ready to listen to his word and receive it.
