Activities
Our team shared the gospel to approximately 250 people and 21 people have accepted Christ according to their reports. We visited in different villages. Some of our team members walked 10-15 hours distance to reach there - this was a real challenge as there was no way to drive vehicles to this area because there are only narrow foot paths. The places we visited were called Bhote Dada, Baluwa etc. There are around 500 people living in this area. They live a hard lifestyle. Our target is to start a fellowship there.
Those above mentioned 21 people who accepted Christ are not from these places. They are from the city and other places where there are established churches.
New Profiles
During this time we have not had any people who joined the leadership with us. Those who came to Christ are joining for fellowship in churches that are suitable for them to join. They are going to different denominational churches. They are from a farming background and look after animals like cows, buffaloes, goats etc. They have difficulty surviving because of poorness. Some are old and sick people and they do not have family support because of their faith. Whoever comes to Christ faces persecution from other family members of their home so life is a struggle for them.
Daljit BK
BK is 35 and is married. His two children are growing and starting to go to school. His wife is lovely and loves the Lord. Two months ago they joined in church fellowship at the church where I attend.
They heard the gospel from our team members. This Dalit family were not happy because of BK's hard drinking habit so the family situation was difficult. Most of the time they were grumbling because his drinking habit was not acceptable for their family. After they heard the gospel and accepted Christ there became a healthy situation in their family. Our evangelist team counselled them. Now BK has left his wine and bad drinking habits. He is changed now so this family is happy now.
They are continuing to learn and grow in Christ.
Purna P Paudel
This 75 year old man believed in Christ a month ago but his wife is not ready to accept Christ yet.
He is a sick person and can’t walk more than 100 meters. He heard about Christ from a Christian neighbour and about healing in Christ so he requested to come in contact with us. We went to his house and shared the gospel and also we did pray for him as he allowed. He then started to come to church.
This man was in his bed without eating anything for a week. When we prayed for him he was able to drink water and also he started to eat normal foods. He is impressed in Christ now but life is hard for him to grow in Christ because his wife and other relatives are not happy with him for joining in fellowship.
Some of the comments have been positive. My understanding about their concept is that they think we Christians should love and show any kind of help but do not preach Christ.
a) We are going to do 2-3 seminars very soon before Christmas of 2017.
b) We wonder if it is better to do social work through SOWERS so it’s impact could be positive about Christianity looking after people.
Recently Hindu people have made a hoarding board in some places on which is written, “No preaching Christ in this area”. It is a prayer request and a challenge for us.
Praise the Lord. The gospel is being shared and people are coming to know Christ.
Yours in Christ
