Recent Events

COVID-19

As we all know 2020 was a year completely different in the history of our lives. Since March 2020 we have been in a state of emergency in Peru with confinements continuing until right now involving curfews at night, many months of not being able to leave the house, and not being able to travel out of the city in any way, not by plane, bus or private vehicle. 

Peru is a country with a lot of mortality and the hospitals are collapsing with no oxygen available.  Peru is buying oxygen from Ecuador and Chile. The corruption has grown in the government and congress, in one week we have had three presidents and the one we have now we do not have much confidence in.  

Family

Within the family we are well thanks to God. Many have died around us but until now we continue fighting by taking Ivermectin which is used by vets and it is helping us as a prevention. Some of our family members have died and also some from the church.

Church

In the church we continue meeting virtually through Facebook and Zoom. We have all our meetings in this format as we aren’t able to meet together and also it is not recommended to meet together as many people are vulnerable.

 

Plans for the Future

In 2020 we had missionary trips to Ayacucho and Cusco planned. Unfortunately LAN (the airline) didn’t want to refund us back the fares we had paid as people cannot travel like they did before. We still cannot travel to visit churches and we do not know when this will change. 

We have been doing discipleship classes via the internet and soon we are hoping to hold baptisms that will be transmitted via Zoom.
