Eid Al Adha Festival

In early June, M's around the world celebrated Eid Al Adha, where Abraham offers up his son. For them it is a lesson in total obedience. We celebrate it as our premiere festival of the year - as a prophecy of the Saviour. We present the story in drama and read it in Koti (or Makhua) and of course have a feast. Many M's join us every year. One of our leaders was able to gather 20 M leaders to teach them what the story means. And this year many M's gave their lives to Jesus as a result of the worship, in Angoche, upcountry villages and on the Koti islands. The gospel spreads in hard places.

Bible School

Our team have started a "Bible School" of their own initiative. Well, it's a Saturday afternoon study time at this stage. But they are planning to take it out to other centres once they have it got it humming in Angoche. Such initiative!

We have just sent three couples to do a 5-month Discipleship Training School in Nampula. Two couples are veteran leaders – for them it is a wonderful chance to be equipped and reset for the next stage of their journey. One couple are new disciples: Anisberto was a fervent M and very nasty to our people, but in October last year when he was praying in the mosque, he heard a voice saying repeatedly, Jesus is the way to heaven. He turned to Jesus! He used to treat his wife like dirt…but now he loves her so much. Such transformation!

Surgery

A month or so ago, Talsamo's wife Amina found a large tumour in her womb and was scheduled to go to Nampula for an operation. But the pain became too intense, and she had to have an emergency operation at Angoche Hospital - which is quite primitive. Anyway, that very day, a specialist from Nampula was visiting and agreed on the spot to do the operation, at 2pm … and then he washed his hands and went back home to Nampula ... all successful and a good recovery. Miraculous timing!

Registration

Talsamo (with another brother) had to go to Maputo to pick up the completed documents for our registration with the Department of Religious Affairs which has to be renewed every 5 years. Because of delays with Amina's operation, his accommodation booking had expired, and they had nowhere to stay. The Director of the Dept arranged accommodation for them and when the documents were signed and delivered, invited them to his home for lunch and asked them to pray for his children right there ... and said he wants to visit our community. Big shots like him don’t do that! Such favour!

Prayer and Praise Points

1) Pray for the three couples attending the Discipleship Training School
2) Pray for covering for all our leaders and for the gospel to keep spreading.
3) Everything is getting more expensive and many of our people are suffering – pray for provision for them.

Thank you for working with us and rejoicing with us!
