UGA09 - Girl Child Empowerment

Report Date: May 5, 2020

Email Update from Ephraim

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you very much for your prayers. I have been very stressed as so many of my programs are put on hold. It has been quite hard to work at home away from my office. This has been so hard especially so when we were stopped with immediate effect from using both our private and public means of transportation. Our documents and box files up to now are away from our reach.

We thank God in that we are doing okay in spite of all the restrictions. My family is doing well though of course I have grown up children who are out of my house and we missed them on Easter especially the grandchildren.

We miss church near our house, the songs of worship together with the congregation. I miss visiting our congregations in the countryside which I visit often as I oversee over 80 congregations. I cancelled our leadership training sessions I had planned to have with pastors in Kiryandongo and West Nile in April and May.

Girl Child Empowerment

Our friends making the reusable sanitary pads have been doing well. We had planned to have a graduation ceremony somewhere before the end of this year. They are not meeting currently because of the lockdown. We had seen some growth as a new group had been planned to begin in June 2020 in a new area called Kinyomozi. We have a number of churches around the Kinyomozi DOVE Church.

Foundations for Farming

Those who were trained in Foundations for Farming are promising to plant their crops according to the training they have had but I have found that many of our farmers are struggling to leave the old way of planting!

Prayer Requests

1) Holy Spirit will give wisdom to our DOVE pastors in various parts of Uganda to shepherd the people who are not allowed to come to their church buildings.
2) Church members will remain faithful to Jesus Christ during this period of lockdown.
3) Church members will have enough food to feed their families.
4) The Lord will protect our Christians from the COVID-19.
5) We will have enough rains as the planting season has begun.
6) Those who were trained in Foundations for Farming will love to practice what they learnt especially as planting has started.

Thank you
