April Update  

Greetings in the Lord's name, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it and is safe” (Pro.18:10)

Three weeks have gone by since all entry into Mozambique was closed down. The government has done its best to restrict movement within the country but despites its efforts, Covid-19 infections are on the rise almost daily. Though no one has died, the number of those with the virus is now 41. None of the positive cases are sick enough to need hospitalization.

When the lockdown was imposed four weeks ago, 11 official entry points were closed. The process of closing these entry points was not orderly. For example, quarantine measures were not enforced on the hundreds of citizens who returned from Europe. It is possible the number of positive cases are much higher than the official 41. Our prayers have been; Lord let the Covid-19 virus be neutralized before it affects those living in highly crowded communities.

My greatest desire for the church in this season is that not only strong leadership in local assemblies rises but also believers will understand the Word better and love to seek the Lord more. We continue to encourage each family to conduct prayer meetings, Bible studies and Sunday fellowship. It is a lot of work and a blessing to minister to more than 100 homes.

As I mentioned in my last update, 99% of believers in Mozambique Assemblies earn their living by buying and selling in informal markets and along the roadside. We are thankful for the prayers and financial support of believers who partner with us. As of last week, 55 homes received 12.5 kg of rice and 5 kg of beans; this food will last three weeks.
