safe placeHappy New Year!

Dear friends,
As we step into this new season, we give thanks to God for His faithfulness and look forward with hope and expectation for all He has in store. We are grateful for your prayers, support, and partnership in the work He has called us to.

Recent Events

School

Bethesda Special Needs School, located in the community of Makululu, has been a beacon of hope for children with special needs in the town of Kabwe. We are always blessed to welcome new students at the beginning of each school term. We are especially grateful to God that one of our students has now progressed to Grade 10.

supporting communityNdola Transform Disability Follow-up

A Transform Disability Training held last year in the Copperbelt province of Zambia has helped churches embrace families affected by disabilities. A follow-up visit was conducted on February 20th, and it was encouraging to hear how these families have been reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church is now actively supporting the disability community by helping meet their needs and providing access to better healthcare.

Beit-Cure Hospital Trips

Beit-Cure Hospital continues to be a vital partner in providing surgeries and splints for children with special medical needs. These interventions have been life changing. It costs $200 per month to transport 15 children to the hospital.

School Feeding Program

Our school feeding program has been a life-changing initiative, ensuring that children do not go to bed hungry. For many of our students, this program provides their only nutritious meal of the day.

Welcoming Three New Teachers

new teacherWe are excited to welcome three new special needs professionals to our teaching staff: Precious, Franiscer (right), and Emmanuel. These teachers were sponsored through a government loan program, which they are required to repay over 10 years.

Additionally, as our school continues to grow, so does the need for more hands to support our children. Volunteers play a crucial role in assisting teachers, engaging with students, and helping with various activities, including therapy sessions, special events, and administrative tasks. Whether you have a background in education, social work, or simply a heart for service, your time and skills can make a lasting impact. If you are interested in joining us as a volunteer, please reach out—we would love to welcome you to the Bethesda family!
