Report from BHW Philippines Partnership Facilitator Following Visit

During our time in the Philippines with ECPM, Vic was our guide and chaperone. He is a lively, likeable guy with a funny sense of humour, and he related well to the team. 

Vic is married with five children and one grandchild. They all still live at home which is a significant burden for him. His role in ECPM is as a trainer and he is the most active in that, he is away from home constantly. He lives in Tay Tay, near to the office and goes to the same church as Marwin and Vida. 

 

Recent Events

Vic has been active with training the teams and usually goes for 4–5 days each quarter to each of the four teams they are currently training. He also helps with the youth training at times. 

Vic is an important part of the team and does the bulk of the extension training. He also assesses and visits new opportunities as they emerge to see if they might be viable when they take on a new team to train. 

 

Current Issues and Challenges

key manVic needs more financial support as costs in the Philippines are increasing rapidly. 

Being away from home a lot puts pressure on his wife especially and the family. 

 

Prayer and Praise Points

1) That Vic is an enthusiastic team member and willing to go where he is sent. 

2) That he is good at communicating and relationship building. 

3) Pray for his family as they finish their education that they will be able to get good jobs and begin to contribute to the family income.

Vic is a nice guy and easy to relate to. He is active and engaging with people and the people we met related well with him. He is very thankful for the support he gets from BHW and relies on it.

I suggest we leave our financial support the same for now. As the local currency devalues, he is hedged a little against inflation.
