REAP Indonesia Update July - December 2021

Dear Partners in the Harvest,

Shalom and we trust you continue to experience God's grace and provisions for all your needs. Praise be to God that we can continue to sow and harvest in Indonesia through your support.

The work of 18 REAP Indonesia evangelists saw:
Over 51,000 gospel tracts distributed,
Over 75,500 verbally evangelised,
Over 6,000 conversions to Christ, and
24 churches planted.

We give God all the glory. Thank you for prayers and partnership in the gospel (Phil. 1: 3-5).

Below are the reports from your REAP evangelists for your prayers and thanksgiving. 

M

M is a 52-year-old male who is married and has four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The believers to grow and mature in their faith
2) The seven who have been baptised to remain faithful in the Lord
3) My second child who is working in a hospital, to be protected from COVID-19
4) My third child who is now working in the delivery service and travelling afar
5) My leg which is still pending surgery due to the high cost
6) The proposal submitted to the authorities to renovate the church

On 25th December 2021, a lady who had been sick for two months, not able to swallow and eat, came into our Christmas meeting and asked to be prayed for. I prayed for her for about 30 minutes. When our meeting was over, the lady came back and updated that she had been healed and could swallow and eat. God had healed her and made His power known. 

Later 28 persons from the Catholic group asked to be baptised and believe in Jesus. Praise God!

AS

A is a 38-year-old male who is married with three children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My wife and kids, and God to sustain our economy
2) The place where I am serving and the non-believers there
3) Persistent to preach and share the gospel
4) Me to remain fervent in serving God faithfully
5) Strength to face difficulties and obstacles

Despite obstacles, pray the Holy Spirit leads me in the ministry work during this season. My greatest challenge is the ancestral traditions and superstitions the people hold fast to Notwithstanding that, we give thanks for the many souls that came to Christ. His gospel is unstoppable!

M 

M is a 43-year-old male who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The ongoing ministry at school and the believers at various places
2) My wife who underwent a surgery
3) My child's spiritual growth and progress at school
4) The Lord to preserve my elderly parents and family
5) Our weekly prayer meetings with fellow believers on Thursday nights
6) The believers' faith to grow in Christ

Praise God that throughout this pandemic, our meetings and ministry continued smoothly. 

In the second week of Sept 2021, I was asked by another ministry to help them. I was scheduled to go there every second week of the month. Early December, I went back to conduct catechesis baptism classes for two couples. This is all through God's strength and the believers' desire to grow. 

I am now ministering at three different places. I am barely a shepherd but a servant that helps these churches. I much appreciate your prayers in carrying me through these ministries. God bless you.

S is a 44-year-old male who is a widower with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The faith of the believers to continue growing in Christ
2) The ongoing renovation works in our church
3) The spiritual growth of our young people in the church
4) The surrounding community where we are serving
5) The Lord to bless and keep my family including my elderly parents
6) More to join in the service and come to believe in Christ
7) Our country's leaders including the districts and provinces, to fear God and lead wisely
8) Our brothers and sisters to not live in fear, given the current pandemic situation in the country 

I visited a family from the T clan and they worshipped ancestral gods. This family was disturbed badly by a presence till their child became sick and helpless. God did an amazing work in the family's life when they chose to believe in Jesus Christ. They surrendered the various amulets and idols to be destroyed in Jesus' name. Praise God. The child's condition is improving. The Lord is turning mourning into rejoicing in this family.

T is a 46-year-old male who is married with three children.

Pray for:
1) The growth of the ministry
2) Those whom we have evangelised to, to soften in their hearts and accept the gospel
3) Patience and perseverance in the ministry
4) Myself, that God continues to give me fervour in serving Him

I give thanks that despite the difficult times during the pandemic, the believers remain faithful in God. He alone preserves and strengthens them.
