REAP Indonesia Update January - June 2020 

Shalom! We pray the Lord's safety and provisions be your daily experience in these challenging times. 

Thank you for the faithful support of REAP Indonesian evangelists. The collective work of 18 evangelists yielded:
- over 46,000 gospel tracts distributed
- over 57,000 verbally evangelised
- over 4,300 conversions to Christ, and
- 22 new churches planted

Praise be to God and thank you for the partnership to reap for God's glory (2 Cor 9v6). Below are your REAP evangelist's reports for your prayers and thanksgiving.  

M

M is a 51 year old male who is married and has four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The believers to grow and be matured in their spiritual lives
2) The 5 who have been baptised to be faithful to the Lord
3) My children - the firstborn will be graduating this year, the third will be going to college and the fourth entering class 8
4) My leg condition awaiting a procedure to remove the pin inserted 6 years ago when I had an accident, that the Lord would provide sufficient funds for this
5) The Lord to also provide sufficient funds or open the way for us to renovate the church building (where we are staying) of 20 years

The church has been rather impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has ordered a lockdown and we are encouraged to worship from home. Some members still prefer to meet at the church. Pray for wisdom and protection as we strive to serve Him and shepherd his people.  

AS

A is a 37 year old male who is married with three children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Many people to hear and have access to the gospel
2) Strength to overcome challenges in the ministry
3) God's protection on my family and kids
4) My family members who have yet to know the Lord
5) Me to remain strong during challenging times and stay faithful in serving Him

Through prayers and evangelism our first breakthrough was in finding souls who have yet to believe in the gospel. Through the Holy Spiri many have come to believe in God and His awesomeness. My prayers have been answered and God proves Himself faithful in our ministry. 

M 

M is a 42 year old male who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The school ministry that many souls would be saved and come to know the Lord Jesus personally
2) Souls that are saved to be a powerful witness to their family and friends
3) God to preserve and protect my family with His blood
4) Family harmony and unity so it doesn't become a hindrance to ministry
5) God to protect the students' and their families' health

Not much activity can be done in ministry during the lockdown. We are still meeting physicallly at church but the numbers are less. 

Home challenges are always something prevalent while serving God. My wife is not very supportive of me in this ministry. Please pray for our marriage - for God to take hold of it and bind it. 

Schools have been closed during lockdown but the prayer group continues and is thriving. Even though there has yet to be any breakthrough, we believe God is working in our midst.

S is a 43 year old male who is a widower with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The believers to remain strong in their faith especially during this challenging time
2) The ongoing church building which requires considerable funds
3) The faith of our young people to stay focused on Christ
4) The people at our place of ministry to be tolerant of religious beliefs so our preaching may not be hindered
5) My parents health, including my child's
6) The Holy Spirit's guidance and strength in my ministry especially while the COVID-19 pandemic is overtaking the world

Notwithstanding the coronavirus pandemic, many people are drawing near to God. In the past, they were very much resistant to the gospel and held steep in their ancestral beliefs. But now they are approaching God in humility and asking for forgiveness. Where I serve currently is surrounded by Malays and Dayaks, who practice rampant idol worship. Oh how we need the Holy Spirit's patience and guidance to trust in God's timing. The Lord has enabled us to serve Him even in this challenging time. Our God is the Saviour of the world and He holds all in His hands. May we all repent and return to Him.

Pray for:
1) The spiritual growth of our ministry
2) The evangelised to respond to the gospel
3) My family to remain strong in serving God
4) God's preserving strength in my ministry

In the months of May and June, two miraculous healings took place. We had two ladies who were unwell - one suffered from diabetes, the other had a fall and could not move her hand or leg. We asked for healing from the Lord and within a few days, the two ladies were active again. Praise be to God. He is alive and hears our prayers. He stretches out His hand and heals His people.
