Zimbabwe continues to grapple with the harsh realities of economic instability, HIV/AIDS, high unemployment, and recurrent droughts. As a result, many young people—particularly in rural and impoverished areas—are left without parental care or meaningful support. Grandparents who themselves require assistance, single unemployed mothers, and struggling guardians are often unable to provide even the most basic needs. Children drop out of school, not because they lack potential, but because they lack opportunity.
In response, Fountain of Hope Foundation has established Transformation Centres—safe havens where vulnerable children and school dropouts are given another chance:
- A chance to learn.
- A chance to eat.
- A chance to dream again.
The following centres are actively transforming lives today:
Mthombothemba Transformation Centre - 160 children
Mtshazo Transformation Centre - 34 children
Makamure Primary School Centre - 195 children
Children at these centres receive daily meals and access to our informal education program.
Those who had dropped out of school are now learning alongside their peers, igniting confidence and restoring dignity.
The centres have become lifelines—not only for the children, but for entire families and communities who see a brighter future through education.
Fountain of Hope proposes the opening of two new Transformation Centres:
Majiji Community (Matabeleland North)
Target: 80 children
- High illiteracy due to widespread school dropouts and parental absence.
- Many children live with elderly guardians or no guardian at all.
Madzivire Village (Chivi, Masvingo Province)
Target: 40 children
- Extremely limited access to formal education; nearby schools are too far for children to walk.
- Poverty and isolation have created deep educational divides.
These proposed centres will follow the proven model:
- Provide daily nutrition
- Offer informal, nurturing education
- Foster community-based care and discipleship
To Bright Hope World: your faithful support is restoring futures that once seemed unreachable. Transformation Centres are not just buildings—they are lighthouses in the storm, illuminating a path to hope, dignity, and purpose.
Thank you, from all of us—especially the children whose lives you continue to transform.
The economic situation in Zimbabwe, especially since the start of the 21st century, has placed many families under immense strain. For orphans and vulnerable children—particularly those raised by aging grandmothers or unemployed single mothers—life has often been reduced to a daily struggle for survival.
In this harsh climate, access to education is a privilege reserved for the few. Children from well-off families continue to rise, while those from marginalized households sink deeper into poverty, widening an already painful gap.
Fountain of Hope Foundation, inspired by a mandate of compassion and justice, launched the Education Support Program to rewrite this narrative. The goal is clear: To restore hope and expand opportunity by ensuring orphans and vulnerable children gain access to quality education.
Education is more than a classroom—it’s a key to unlock potential, dignity, and generational transformation.
With the generous support from Bright Hope World, we are currently able to:
• Pay school fees for 10 primary school children each term.
• Provide these children with essential school requirements so they can attend classes confidently and consistently.
These children, once on the brink of dropping out, are now seated at desks, raising hands, and dreaming beyond survival. Through your partnership, they are beginning to see a future where possibility replaces poverty.
While we celebrate the impact at the primary level, high school fees remain beyond our current reach, despite the urgent need. Many bright young minds leave our Bridging Schools with no means to continue their academic journey. The cost barrier effectively cuts short their progress, leaving them vulnerable once again.
Fountain of Hope is believing for breakthrough—and praying for provision—to support a wider circle of learners:
Proposed Expansion:
Primary School- increase in support from 10 children to 20–25 children
High School - commence support of 10–15 children
We envision covering school fees and all required materials (uniforms, stationery, examination fees) for at least 30 children each term—both primary and secondary—empowering them to stay in school and build a future.
To Bright Hope World: thank you for believing in children who were once forgotten. Your support is not just keeping them in school—it’s rewriting their story and lighting a path forward. With continued support, we are confident that many of these children will rise to become educated, skilled, and compassionate members of society. The kind of young men and women who will lift others up—just as you have lifted them.
Fountain of Hope would like to express sincere gratitude to Bright Hope World for your continued support of the Foundations for Farming initiative across the Matabeleland South and North provinces of Zimbabwe. Your investment is helping transform some of the most marginalized communities in Zimbabwe—places where hope often feels distant, yet continues to grow through faithful partnership.
We especially extend our thanks for your support of Mr Maxwell Ncube, our devoted Agriculture Officer. His commitment to serving and mentoring farmers in these remote, dry communities is producing lasting fruit.
The Matabeleland provinces fall under Climatic Region V, the driest and most vulnerable agricultural zone in Zimbabwe. Rainfall patterns in this region are consistently below average, and the 2024–2025 season was no exception.
Mtshazo & Majiji: Received extremely limited rainfall, resulting in severe crop wilting and minimal harvests. Farmers laboured faithfully, but nature was harsh and unyielding.
Mthombothemba: Fared comparatively better than surrounding areas. While rainfall was still below normal, there was a modest yield from those who followed Foundations for Farming principles.
Gwakwe & Sibona: Experienced similar challenges to Mtshazo and Majiji—poor rains, widespread crop failure, and growing food insecurity.
As of this report, hunger and starvation are increasing across these communities. The combination of poor soil, scarce rains, and economic vulnerability makes survival difficult. Yet through it all, farmers remain resilient—many continuing to apply biblical farming principles and trust God for breakthrough.
Despite the challenges, Fountain of Hope is resolved to continue the work of transformation. With Bright Hope World's ongoing partnership, we envision the following:
Training & Expansion
• Continue mentoring trained farmers in all five communities to deepen their understanding of Foundations for Farming.
• Identify new farmers for training—especially youth and women—to equip them as community role models.
• Encourage early land preparation, a key principle of Foundations for Farming.
Adaptation Strategies
• Promote small-scale conservation agriculture techniques to retain moisture in dry soils.
• Introduce drought-tolerant seed varieties, when possible, through donor support.
• Encourage mulching and planting basins to improve water retention.
Spiritual Integration
• Establish Bible Study Clubs in each community to provide spiritual nourishment alongside agricultural training.
• Encourage community prayer gatherings focused on hope, healing, and restoration of the land.
The people of Mtshazo, Mthombothemba, Majiji, Gwakwe, and Sibona may be geographically isolated, but they are not forgotten. Your support is helping them rediscover dignity, resilience, and the powerful truth that God is with them—even in Region V.
Thank you, Bright Hope World, for being a vessel of hope in the driest places.
Blessings,
Gideon & Jennifer
