Foundations for Farming June Update – Makamure Community

We thank God, and we extend heartfelt gratitude to Bright Hope World for your unwavering support. Your partnership has made a lasting impact in Makamure, bringing transformation to the lives of families through faith-based farming and practical empowerment.

2024-25 Season Overview

food for familyTraining & Inputs

A total of 500 farmers were trained in Foundations for Farming principles.

205 farmers received farming inputs—primarily maize seed—which helped them implement the training effectively.

Rainfall Challenges

The season began with difficult rainfall patterns. We thank God that conditions improved mid-season, allowing families to harvest enough food to sustain themselves.

Field Day Success

A district-wide Field Day was held at a farmer’s homestead in Makamure.

Participants from across the district learned first-hand how Foundations for Farming produces results.

Community Growth

Farmers from Makamure are now teaching others.

There is widespread confidence in this method, and neighbouring communities are beginning to adopt it and also inviting Fountain of Hope and the farmers to train them.

God caresEarly Preparation:
Mr Silas Chidaushe, our Agriculture Officer in Masvingo, has already begun mobilizing communities for early land preparation in line with Foundations for Farming principles.

Expansion Plans:
We will be training new farmers in Ward 17 of Chivi District, in addition to the ones that we are working with already:

Bundu Area70–100 farmers
Manyumbu Communities50–80 farmers

The old trainees will serve as role models, helping others adopt sustainable practices.

We aim to establish several Bible Study Clubs in these communities. These groups will foster both spiritual growth and practical empowerment, helping break the cycle of poverty.
