WhatsApp message update from Melvin Chiombe, OM Zambia

Greetings from Zambia.

First and foremost, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to you and your partners for your generous financial support. This money has made a significant difference in the lives of our people, who are serving the Lord in many countries in Africa.

We are also thankful for the Foundations for Farming training that was facilitated at GLO in 2023 for some of our missionaries who, as you can see by the personal stories, are now starting to use these methods to help locals in their areas, as well as provide for themselves in a more sustainable way.

Recent Events

I wanted to inform you that Dan and Ruth Bullock have returned to UK. This decision was made due to their children's education needs and the feeling that their season of service here has ended.

We have appointed Oscar Mwila, one of our longest-serving missionaries who has served in Malawi and then Zambia, to take on leadership responsibilities.

Personal Stories

Isaac and Ruth Tembo: The Tembo’s are dedicated missionary teachers who serve at Makwati Primary School. They are deeply committed to these children and compassionately run after-school programs. Their dedication is evident in the positive changes observed in the children, their families, and the wider community, who greatly appreciate their commitment.

Name Withheld (NW): NW is serving in Northern Ghana among the Fulani tribe with the family. They are effectively using mechanics as a business to help support them in their missionary work in the country.

Charles: Charles is in Nigeria, reaching villagers through Foundations for Farming initiatives.

Muhandu: Muhandu is in Gambia reaching out to the village using Foundations for Farming.

Agela and Ired: Agela and Ired are serving as a nurse and clinical officer in Gambia, conducting medical outreaches in the villages.

Mildred: Mildred serves as a teacher at Makwti school in Kabwe, Zambia. She is witnessing positive transformation in the lives of the children, both academically and socially.

Benjamin and Rachel: Benjamin and Rachel are also missionaries serving with a school for the disabled in Kabwe.

Everlyn: Everlyn is a teacher at Makwati Primary School in Kabwe, Zambia, a school dedicated to vulnerable children. Everlyn finds great joy in seeing these children's lives transformed and in them developing a loving relationship with God as their father.

Note: BHW's Zambia Partnership Facilitators will be visiting in July 2025 and a more detailed report will be provided following that visit.
