Kenya Youth Outreach Report

I (Shaban) greet you in the name of our lovely Jesus Christ hoping and trusting that you are all safe and sound.

Recent Events

Senior Team

The boys are growing in faith always and the bible readings before and after training has been a great motivation and it brings inspiration to many youths. The idea of Ken forming Kensha has borne fruit since many youths have given their lives to Jesus Christ and those who didn't understand much about Jesus have also grown spiritually and many more are hungry with the word. In spite of challenges the senior team is training hard with the help of Eddy as the assistant coach, the likes of Jafar he is a skilled boy with dribbling tactics which makes him to be the top scorer. There is Mbandi he never jokes on defence area and the goalkeeper is referred by many as a cat because scoring past him isn't easy at all. Their hard work in practice, always bring positive results this is after a match between the Beast boys FC and Kensha whereby Kensha won with 15 points and three goals. Many are bare footed but surprisingly they never disappoint when it comes to friendly matches and top league levels. The team is in the league and required to pay a certain fee so that they can be counted among the top teams of the year 2025. The team challenges are football gear, emergency kit, and feeding program for the boys. Transport to and from friendly matches is as well a hindrance. Unity among them and living in good ways of a Christian has brought great success and improvement.

Junior Team

The boys are growing strong in faith, as well as in playing skills. They are the image of the senior team. They have a system of spreading the word of God by sharing among themselves and reaching out to other youth in the streets. They keep practicing each day and have become tough enough to tackle any team. Bible sharing before and after training has brought a good picture to other youth and many wish to join the Junior team as well. Their biggest challenge is still football shoes. Teamwork, love and respect has been their keys to success.

Scholarship Students

The boys are happy and grateful since part of their fees has been paid. They promise to keep working hard in school so they can come up with good grades.

The boys have a high morality, and they pray to continue with their plumbing courses (three boys). They are likely to graduate next year November 2026.

The Plot

During holidays the boys help one another in clearing of environment and in planting different plants. The hot sun makes plants wither, and a lack of water causes plants and crops to grow weaker. The Kensha plot environment is convincing but during evenings there is total darkness as there is no electricity in the area. The house is still unfinished in some parts and there is no furniture in the house. No chairs and no tables, the situation is very unpleasant. Bible readings and sharing brings joy and hope to everyone, and morning praise and worship is always wonderful as it grows up faith for the youth.

Challenges and Successes

Comments

I (Shaban) have been keeping an eye on the wellbeing of the Kensha family as a whole and encouraging the youth of the importance of being close to the Lord through everyday prayers. We pray for the Harvest Partnership as a whole and those who always consider us in donations and support. May you all be blessed and may the Lord make a way where there is no way.
