Manara International Autumn Update

Recent Events

Opening of Vocational Centre

Manara International is celebrating the opening of a new vocational center in Fuheis, a city near Amman. With the inspired help of many, this center is now supporting Iraqi Christian refugee families who live in Fuheis where approximately 1000 refugees live. Manara's goal is to empower women with skills - teaching them embroidery and sewing. In selling their products and earning income, they take care of their children and often older adult parents who are also refugees. You can see the self-esteem and hope rising in the eyes and smiles of these courageous women.

improving communication skills

The ability to communicate is so vital in today's world, and Manara is now helping to offer English and computer courses to both children and adults. The first class of 25 Iraqi refugee students have graduated with better English skills. We are looking forward to meeting a new group of students stepping forward to learn English, which also enhances their prospects for success when emigrating to another country. To learn the computer is to be empowered - to go from walking to running. The computer classes now being offered at the Manara vocational center are just one more way we hope to enhance the lives of adults and children with a better future. Evening classes to serve even more of God's people start soon.

Please join us in prayer and thanksgiving for this center - may the Lord use it to bless more and more people in this area, and may it be a place of safety, joy and hope for all those who participate.

much appreciatedDistribution to Refugees

Manara International is thankful to the Lord who has enabled us to assist and provide for our suffering brothers and sisters. Around 400 families attended the most recent distribution event where every person attending received a hot meal to warm not only the stomach, but also to help fill the heart. In addition, each family received a food package and a hygiene package. With your generous support, approximately 500 families in need received aid through food packages in October.

needed for winter

Winter 2017/18

The winter time in Jordan is very cold and harsh. Many suffer as they do not have the basic items to keep them warm. Blankets and heaters are of utmost importance during the winter season as many houses do not have adequate heating systems.
