Dear Friends in Christ, I am grateful to be able to greet you and I wish you the Lord’s blessings.
God has been faithful during all of 2015 and I have been able to finish the 4th and second to last year in university, for which I am very grateful. I have had the opportunity to speak about God and pray with my fellow students in the university and the Lord has responded and permitted that one of my friends, Liced (right), could hear the word of God and start coming to church which has been a great encouragement and joy for me.
By the grace of God, I have continued being a leader to the young people in the church. The Lord touched the lives of four young people in the group that I am in charge of, who made the decision to be baptised in September. This gave me tremendous joy and blessings for me because I could see the fruit of the work that we are doing with them. Pray for these young people, that God would continue working in them.
I have been developing, along with the other youth leaders of the church, different activities during the year with the goal of continuing to disciple and make known the word of God to other young people who live in my city of Huaycan.
The photos show us;
- Participating in the typical dance of Peru with the young people in the church for the national holidays
- Selling ceviche, a typical Peruvian plate, celebrating the National Holiday organized by the church youth ministry
- In the celebration of ‘the talent night’ organised every year in the church - my group presented a Peruvian folklore dance.
I also continue to teach the 9-11 year old children in the Segadores Missions Centre in Pariachi (see PER10a). During 2015 together with teaching the Bible lessons I have been teaching the topic of punctuality and responsibility and the children have been responding really well, arriving early to the classes on Saturdays and learning the bible texts.
The photo shows our Christmas Celebration at the end of 2015. I am speaking to the children to start to praise God with songs.
I ask for your prayers for these children that they will know the true God.
This year I have had the opportunity and the blessing to look after and teach the children of Segadores’ missionaries, in a four day retreat at the end of January.
After teaching the topic "Jesus love us" the children did drawings and painting.
In February this year the Lord allowed me to prepare myself by studying with four leaders in the church three courses of theology, church administration, and Genesis and biblical foundations of ethics. This was in a programme called USELADIS at the University Evangelical Seminary in Lima which is the first evangelical university in Peru. This has been one of the best and most thrilling experiences in my life and I am very grateful to God that He has allowed me to be able to prepare myself studying His word so that I can serve Him in a better way.
The photos show me together with the Rector of the University, other leaders and my parents after finishing my studies, and me singing at the closing ceremony.
Dear friends, firstly I am grateful to the Lord for His grace and faithfulness until now with me, and I am grateful to you for your prayers and for continuing to be a channel of blessing in my life. God willing this year I will complete my studies completely in the university, which reflects how good God has been.
I give thanks to the Lord because one more time he has used you as a great blessing in my life and I ask for your prayers that God will continue to strengthen my life during this new year and that He will continue to use my musical talents in His service with the young people and the children.
Thank you very much.
Yuliana
