Despite the heartbreaking violence unfolding in Syria, the TFF team decided to host a large Mother’s Day (March 21st) celebration at the center to spread joy. Almost 400 women attended, many bringing their babies with them. The TFF students prepared a variety of performances for their mothers, including a dance by the kindergarten class and musical performances by older students.
We also provided a range of gifts for the mothers, including clothing, baby formula, and diesel to help keep their families warm. Additionally, we expressed our gratitude to the women in our literacy program by giving each of them a scarf as a token of appreciation for their dedication to education and literacy.
Halima came to the Family Oasis three years ago, not seeking any financial assistance, despite being sixty-five years old. All she wanted was a chance to receive an education. She asked me with a smile, “Can I learn with you?”
I answered, deeply admiring this woman who had been deprived by fate of her homeland, food, home, and friends. War had scattered her family, leaving her in a country that was not her own, drifting between a lost past and the little time she had left. Yet, her ambition to become an educated and refined woman still burned within her.
I told her, “One day, we will open a school for women like you.” And indeed, in early November 2024, our journey began with the launch of a literacy program for illiterate women. Halima was the mustard seed planted in the family oasis, and from it, 80 other women blossomed.
Every time I meet her, she embraces me with deep affection, thanking God for this opportunity.
Mohammad, a bright 13-year-old with a passion for mechanics, dreams of opening his own car repair shop. However, his family's financial struggles force him to work on a landowner’s farm after school.
Hoping to learn more, he worked at repair shops but faced neglect and unfair treatment, making his dream seem unreachable. Everything changed when he discovered a training center offering mechanics classes. Enrolling eagerly, he finally found a place to learn and grow.
At the Family Oasis, Mohammad gained knowledge, confidence, and hope. Now, he truly believes that one day, his dream will become a reality.
In this message, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to you for your constant support and for helping our afflicted sons and daughters receive heavenly blessings through you. You contribute to transforming souls and spirits and rebuilding the suffering human beings. I am confident that heaven is busy preparing diamond crowns for each one of you.
