City: Cajamarca, Peru
Church: Centro Biblico Cajamarca
In May we celebrated another anniversary of the church in Curahuasi, Southern Peru. Our visit was a source of motivation for many of the believers.
We prepared and delivered some leadership studies for one of the believers who was then recognised on the main day of the anniversary celebrations as a deacon. Agustín and Jessica (our daughter) are well and very encouraged to continue serving the Lord there.
It was really joyous to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the Bible Centre Church in Cajamarca. It was celebrated with a baptism, testimonies and a programme of worship to our dear God, and then an afternoon tea together.
In the town of Juliaca, Puno department, in the South of Peru, we conducted a Bible seminar where we trained 105 pastors from this region. We preached in two of the churches in Juliaca.
We assisted with a medical campaign that was carried out by CBC medical believers. The campaign focused in the area of Neurology, Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
We took the opportunity to preach and had a great couples meeting.
For the first time ever, we were able to hold a Thanksgiving meeting with the Mayor and his councillors. The joint pastors group of Cajamarca gave me the opportunity to preach the Word of God. The photo shows us with the Mayor.
Dear believers,
Apart from these activities, we were involved in many other in the city and in the rural areas. We were involved in the celebrations of the Month of the Bible, with the interdenominational churches in the city, and with the start of a new church plant in Guadalupe.
On the other hand, the political situation in Peru is passing through some difficult times and the economy in Cajamarca is falling because of the closure of many mining projects due to political conflicts. The Yanacocha Mine has made 10,000 workers redundant, leaving just 2,000 workers with jobs. We are in a difficult time economically because the mines have been the economic power in Peru and especially Cajamarca.
Our family has been affected by health issues. We ask for your prayers for our daughter, Katia, who is going through a period of deep depression and because of the political problems has not been paid for an odontology project during the past two years.
We also ask your prayers for my (Godofredo) health as I have had an irritable colon. Thanks to God that Teresa is well.
Thank you very much, fellow believers, for your economic support, it is a great help to us. May our dear God continue to bless your ministry.
May all the glory be to God!
