Francis Malish Steven

Francis Malish Steven is 23 years old. He has a deep interest in becoming an engineer but has parents who have no income and are poor. He is studying electrical installation at the Nile Vocational Institute in Jinja. He is grateful to BHW for the support of his training.

Alone Norman

Alone Norman, aged 28, lost his father and grew up with his mother. He faced many challenges earlier before getting the scholarship. He believes he will be independent on completion of his course since it guarantees him a sure job whether employed or self-employed. He hopes to support his mother and his siblings on completion of his training when he gets a job. He is studying at the Bethel Business Trainining Institute in Jinja.

SiJale Peace Doreen 

SiJale Peace Doreen is 20 years old. She grew up with her mother but lost her father. She is traumatized by the experience of growing up as an orphan. She is undertaking secretarial studies at the Nile Vocational Institute in Jinja. During the interview she broke into tears while explaining her challenges of living under a relative's care. Now she has hope and believes she will be independent and able to support her widowed mother on completion of her course since she believes she will be employed.

Willi Fred 

Willi Fred is aged 21. He is a Ugandan. His parents are peasants and unable to raise funds to send him for any further studies or training. Willi thanks BHW for the opportunity of a scholarship to help him obtain a future after completing the course. Willi is studying computers and expects to do great in line with the many business oriented packages that include graphics which many youth are taking advantage of in making money especially in Kampala along Nakasero road. He is studying at Bethel Business Training Institute in Jinja.

Mujuro Ben 

Mujuro Ben is aged 22, a Ugandan and son of a Pastor. Mujuro could not go beyond the ordinary level of education (completing senior four) as this was all his parents could afford. He is grateful that his dream of taking professional courses has now come. He believes he will be independent and even support his aging and struggling parents. Mujuro is taking Computer Training, mainly business packages, at Bethel Business Training Institute in Jinja.

Oloka Michael  

Oloka Michael, aged 21, grew up with his grandparents from the age of one year when his parents divorced. He received no financial support from his grandparents. After his O level education he was employed at Nytil Jinja Fabrics but he lost the job, which was temporary, and lost the room he rented. He became homeless.

Being a committed young man at church, Oloka got the scholarship that has earned him a place to stay and be fed as he is boarding. He is grateful to BHW and the church for the opportunity to uphold him and would like to establish a beauty and hair salon on completing his training of cosmetology at the St Mulumba Vocational Institute in Jinja.

Wani Juma

Wani Juma, aged 21, lost his father and grew up with his struggling mother. He could not proceed to university due to a lack of finances. He is grateful to BHW and Life Gospel Ministries for granting him a scholarship to get back to school to study and get equipped with skills that will help him earn a living. Wani is taking a course on Computer Repairs and Maintenance with added business packages that will put him in the market. He is studying at Bethel Business Institute in Jinja.

Natasha Nahia 

Natasha Nahia, aged 16, is taking hairdressing at the YMCA, Jinja. She stays with her grandmother. Her mother is unemployed. Natasha is a committed choir member at the church. She believes she will soon earn and will not need to depend on her mother or grandmother. She is grateful to the ministry/church and BHW for giving her hope and a future.

Bridget Kawino 

Bridget Kawino, aged 18, is studying catering at the YMCA School of Business Studies. She is an orphan and a regular church member. She had nobody to help her beyond her ordinary school certificate education. 

She is grateful to BHW and the church for helping her overcome the fear of tomorrow. She hopes to get employed on completing her course.

Babra

Babra is aged 22. She is so grateful to the church and BHW for the support to offer her a scholarship to train in computers. Babra and her mother both gave testimonies at the church with tears. They live in the humble slum of Jinja-Impia just 100 meters from the church in Nile-Njeru. The mother is a loan member offered by Life Gospel Ministries.

 

 

Nancy Among

Nancy Among,  20,  grew up from Sunday school at Church. She is from a humble family with an unstable income. She leads the church choir. Nancy chose to be a medical laboratory technician. With a partial scholarship she is in her second semester at the Bugembe Medical School. Her mother is a loan member and does small business. They live just 100m in the slum called Jinja–Impya in Nile-Njeru.

 

Josephine

Josephine, 23, has lived with no parents, taking care of her younger brothers and sisters. She is a committed church member. She is attending a course on accounts. She is grateful to BHW and Life Gospel Ministries for the support towards her course which has kept her part-time with a school as a bursar.
