Update from Timothy Kakooza

This is an extract from an email received from our partners Timothy and Janepher Kakooza who are responsible for Winners School in Katosi on the shores of Lake Victoria and Chosen Generation School in Mbale Village which is about 5 kilometres from Katosi.

Timothy and Janepher have some great things to report:

Winners School, Katosi

I used to think you had to be special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes and leave the rest with Him. God has been so faithful to allow our ministry to share the gospel and reach out to 674 hurting, vulnerable and orphaned children by providing food, accommodation, healthcare and education. (Many of these children are fully boarding and a lot of them do not have a home to go to, even in the holiday times.)

This is a panoramic view of the school in mid 2016. We understand the new classroom block under construction is now complete.

2016 was amazing as we saw souls saved, lives transformed, and babies rescued. We have 48 wonderful staff who have done a great job working tirelessly to take care of the children.

Your donations and contributions are highly appreciated. Because of your contributions the diet of the children has improved and along with that, the health of the children has also improved. You have also enabled us to maintain working with our dedicated staff.

Chosen Generation School, Mbale

improvingThe Mbale school has continued to improve, bringing a positive impact to the village. We are believing for total transformation.

We have added another class this year and we have constructed two more classrooms which are ready for roofing.

The borehole is serving both the school and the community, it is a big contribution to the community. Not only that but we are continuing to instil Christian values to the children. The Children's Pastor at the school is doing a great job. Our theme this year is "More of Jesus".

We do need Bibles and other Christian materials. We are also influencing other schools through the Union of Christian Colleges and Schools. (This is in southern Uganda. Timothy is the head of the Christian Schools Association which represents a large group of both secondary and primary schools. The Association has a strategy to transform the nation with Christian values.)

Prayer Requests

1) Pray for children who graduate from the boarding home at Katosi
2) There is a need for a vocational school for training of young people in skills and trades
3) Because of growth in the boarding section there is a need for more beds and mattresses
4) There is a need for a girls program providing sanitation pads. This is because when they have their monthly cycle they stay away from school and miss out on education.
5) Healing for HIV positive children
6) That the children will have a deeper knowledge of God and especially for ways to reach our adolescent children
7) Improvement in water purification
8) Construction of a children’s church

It is your prayers, love and partnership that God has used to help make all of this possible. With every gift, you are right there with us sharing Christ and loving people through the different programs.

We just wanted you to know how much we count on you as we continue with this vital ministry.

Thank you

Timothy & Janepher Kakooza
