It is with great pride to share this report highlighting our achievements for the year 2024. This has been a pivotal year for our organization as we expanded our reach and services, thanks to significant funding support from PEPFAR, Independent development Trust (IDT) and the continued support from our international donors such as UK Trust, Bright Hope World and the Deep-Rooted families in the US. This funding has enabled us to make impactful strides in implementing our programmes in the community.
Our Vision is to build a strong, resilient, productive and healthy population in the Masoyi tribal region and wider community and we are striving to transform lives to a brighter future and help our communities to unlock their highest potential.
Masoyi Bright Hope Foundation is an organization dedicated and committed to improving the lives of those in our community by addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and by helping the said community to develop economic independence.
• Masoyi care workers identify and reconnect individuals who have defaulted from HIV care and treatment and also collaborate with healthcare facilities to access defaulter lists and use community health workers for tracking.
• Enhance understanding of HIV treatment adherence and reduce default rates, organize regular literacy sessions focusing on the importance of adherence and we also facilitate peer-led support groups to share experiences and strategies for adherence.
• Support young mothers living with or affected by HIV through education, health services, and economic empowerment, provide health services, childcare education, and economic empowerment training such as sewing, bidding, carpentry and lastly, we connect young mothers with mentors who have successfully navigated similar challenges.
• Reduce new HIV infections through education, behaviour change, and accessibility to prevention methods. We also conduct awareness campaigns in schools and workplaces.
• Provide comprehensive care and support to orphan and vulnerable children OVC, ensuring their well-being and development, offer counselling services and create safe spaces for emotional expression and work with caregivers to improve parenting skills and household stability.
• Deliver quality care to individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities in their homes and conduct regular visits to monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans.
In 2024, our organization successfully implemented a comprehensive Track and Tracing system and Adherence Support program, resulting in a significant improvement in treatment adherence among people living with HIV (PLHIV) in our community.
Track and Tracing Services
• Successfully traced and re-engaged 123 PLHIV who had disengaged from care.
• Collaborated with healthcare facilities to ensure individuals returned to treatment plans, reducing the risk of advanced disease progression.
• Established a dedicated team of 8 Lay Counsellors who ensured personalized follow-ups with clients.
Adherence Literacy Support Groups
• Conducted 8 support group sessions with a total of 200 attendees for the first quarter.
• Educated clients on the importance of adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART), improving health outcomes and viral suppression rates.
• Partnered with local clinics to align our adherence literacy curriculum with national guidelines and priorities.
The clinic staff ensured the lay counsellor had access to relevant client files, enabling them to identify and follow up with People Living with HIV (PLHIV) requiring support. By organizing and sharing updated information, the clinic staff streamlined case management and enhanced the counsellor’s ability to provide targeted and timely interventions. To promote safer sexual practices among PLHIV, the clinic staff ensured the availability and distribution of condoms. Masoyi lay counsellor together with clinic staff collaborate and contributed in distributing over 6400 condoms during support groups for this quarter.
This partnership emphasized the importance of reducing the risk of further HIV transmission. They provided resources, such as informational materials and space within the clinic for group meetings. Additionally, clinic staff shared their expertise by co-facilitating sessions or offering insights on medication adherence, side effects management, and the importance of regular clinic visits.

House Building Program
We are delighted to inform you that Masoyi has successfully completed the construction of the house designated for child-headed families, as planned. This milestone was achieved through UK Trust generous funding and unwavering support, enabling us to provide a safe and stable home for vulnerable children in need. The new house offers these children a secure space to live and thrive, restoring hope and dignity to their lives. We deeply appreciate UK Trust partnership in making this project a reality and positively impacting the lives of these young individuals.
Young Moms Program
Masoyi Young Moms Sewing Program continues to empower young mothers with essential sewing skills, enabling them to achieve economic independence and contribute meaningfully to their Family. We are proud to say last year we were able to successfully train and graduated 30 young mothers, equipping them with advanced sewing skills. The program has significantly improved the self-esteem and economic status of participants, enabling them to support their families and contribute to the Organisation.
Future Plans:
• Expand the program to new regions to reach more young mothers.
• Introduce a mentorship program connecting graduates with industry professionals.
• Develop a digital marketing workshop to help participants promote their businesses online.
The Young Moms Sewing Program has positively transformed the lives of participants, providing them with the skills and confidence to pursue economic opportunities. Bright Hope support has been crucial in achieving these milestones, and we look forward to continuing this impactful work.
