“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10)
Country News
We thank God that the Covid-19 pandemic has been moving in slow rates and the number of cases has decreased a lot in Egypt. People are still taking precautions but more activities have been taking place. Schools, universities and day care centres are back to normal, and life is pretty much back to normal. We continue to pray for the whole world to be back to normal as well and to end this pandemic forever.
Ministry News
The ministry has been going so well with God’s provision and grace. We have been witnessing people’s life change for the better.
Vocational Training Centre (EGY01): There are two courses taking place now in the training centre, one of which is a computer course for the Sudanese refugees. It is very joyful to help them with such a small thing and teach them something beneficial for them and for their family. The other course is an art course for the children. They love art and they love how their talent is growing and becoming something remarkable. The training centre has been such a blessing throughout the years, and it makes our hearts full when we see it growing and becoming bigger and more inspiring for many people.
Poverty Reduction Program (EGY05): My wife led the women on a Nile cruise trip for those poor ladies. They spent a great day together having a lunch meal and praying and worshiping the Lord. It was such a joyful time, and it made a huge change in their life taking them out for a day and having them refreshed.
Syrian Refugees (EGY05a): In the last two months the team did a visit to the Syrian refugees. They met the families and heard their needs and supported them with bags of food and some financial aids.
Support of Drug Addicts (EGY05b): This month I did a visit to the rehabilitation centre to follow up with these young people. It was a great time to see how they are recovering and changing, and it was good to pray with them and leave an encouraging message from the bible with them.
Loan Program (EGY05c): Since we commenced this ministry, we have succeeded to reach 190 families. This ministry is very fruitful, and people are very happy with the small projects they do. They are very beneficial for them as the income they get fulfils their daily needs. All of the families are paying back the loans on time.
Bible School Ministry: The bible school is still going on. We have around 18 students who come for three days each month from 9 am to 6 pm every day to attend lectures and group discussions. They study the word of God in order to enable them to graduate and be responsible for local churches.
Family News
God is so good to us all the time. We praise the Lord for always supporting and protecting us throughout everything we go through.
Last month we celebrated my granddaughter's second birthday and this month we celebrated my older son's 30th birthday. It is such a great joy and blessing seeing the family members grow physically and spiritually.
Syrian Refugee Ministry (EGY05a)
This lady is 40 years old. She is married and has three children. S is in high school, K is in 3rd preparatory (grade 9), and A is in grade one. He is sick in the lungs and needs lots of medications. Her husband doesn't work because he has problems with his spine and a pelvic fracture after a fall from a high place. He cannot work in a permanent job because of his heath situation, and she cannot work because she has problems with her liver. Lately, she was ill and went to the hospital where they gave her wrong medication which made her health became worse and her lungs were affected, but she is getting better now. They live in a very poor area. Our ministry supports her financially and with some materials to help her cover the cost of medications of the family and the education expenses also.
Support of Addicts (EGY05b)
MM grew grew up in poverty and a bad environment which led him into drugs. He spent his youth mixing with bad people who influenced him and used him. When he came to the centre, he was close to death.
He came to the centre when he realized that the problem wasn’t in the drugs itself but in the thoughts, actions and habits he had learned from bad people. He realised that God wanted relationship with him and was still searching for him.
He is now very happy that he has decided to make the move to change and come for help. He has started to think about his life and established targets and milestones. He is learning new thoughts and principles. Now he really wants to glorify the name of the Lord in his life.
RE was in a desperate situation, his life had been destroyed. He was addicted to many types of drugs and because of this he had lost everything: his family, his apartment, his land, his wife and kids. Everything.
Having lost everything he thought that it would be impossible to stop using drugs, but he came to the centre for help. He started the program and noticed that changes began happening in his life. First, he was taught how to be in a relationship with God. And this was the beginning, then he noticed how God is working and bringing about change after change.
He says that all the workers in this program are good people who really care to encourage others to change. He has become a normal person again. He works out and became fit. He plays football. He is learning how to deal with his feelings in healthy ways. He said that all this change happened because of God’s work in his life.
