Currently the sewing courses are being run in six places (Wazir town, Rawat, and four rural villages #233, 320, 321 and 152). All are doing well.
Village No 320 JB
Yasmi is the teacher in this village and this year there are some 18-20 women who are learning sewing skills here. It was the very first time anyone has started this kind of community development project in such a village. All are so grateful that it happened in their village. Here we also have a girl who teaches young ladies and children to learn how to complete their studies.
We praise God for women in these areas are benefitting, surely it will be a great help for them and their families in the future.
Village No 152, JB
The teacher in this village is Asia Bibi and she has two children (see photo below).
In total there are 15-16 women in the class here. We also have a tuition center for the children who cannot afford tuition fees, or are lazy and not regular in their home work. In this village we pay a small amount for rent.
Wazir (PAK01d)
There are currently 22 women students training in the Wazir town sewing centre.
These sewing courses are a great help for the women in villages who already have very limited opportunities to read or learn some form of handywork. For example, the teacher in village 152, her husband divorced her and she has two small children, 5-7 years of age. She has no parents and no support. She came back to her home but had no work. The Lord opened a door for her to learn last year and then become a teacher in the sewing class this year. Now she sews the cloth of others to earn some income and also receives a salary from Bright Hope World to continue supporting herself and her children.
There are many touching stories. Another women, her three children are students at the Christian Cambridge School (PAK06). Last year her husband died and her in-laws did not allow her to go out to find a job. She was told she can do something in the house. Last year she got a sewing machine and certificate from us and now she also sews the cloth of others and supports herself and the children.
This kind of project is lifting up the community, especially women to be able to stand up in their times of challenges.
