Update from NGM

Greetings with the refreshing rain and from the hills and valleys of M to Bright Hope World, NZ.

It has been quite sometime that I have not updated much on the work here with NGM and ROTC since the summit in January.

After we got back from Bangalore, we worked out how to make a few changes in our plans to generate income and make the best use of the financial support we are getting from Bright Hope World. In the month of February we made some changes and it seems good so far.

Micro-loans

To start of, we decided to give small micro-loans with some interest coming in monthly for NGM/ROTC. We used INR 1,00,000 (US$1,500) from the funds we recieved last month. If it makes good progress it will help us to carry on with some extra income coming in and we can utilize it for creating different income generation activities. Please pray this new activity will be beneficial and grow eventually.

Coffee Shop

In regard to opening a coffee shop, I was following up with a man as he was saying he will help by training my brother. I called him during February and spoke once when he said to send A by April. But sadly since March I have been calling and he has never answered my calls and there is no hope that he will help A get trained. It was disappointing for me personally as we both know each other well and all I asked and what he promised was to train A how to brew/make coffee for a month in his cafe at Pune (I was all prepared to make the arrangements).

Nevertheless, we are not giving up on the coffee shop and the good news is that we have found a place and one of my friends in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is trying to arrange proper training in June for around five weeks. Both A and I are looking forward to pursuing this training so that we can give our best to start "THE BREWERS CAFE & ARTISTRY" right after the training (most likely after July as the spot for the cafe also need some renovation). To this plan, we are planning to invest some of our own family money as business is always taking the risk first. God is really good that the location where we want to start the cafe is at the heart of the Imphal Secretariat area surrounded by government offices, banks, function hall, etc and crowded every day. We are just crossing our fingers and praying that the Lord will bless the work of our hands.

Once it is in full swing it will help us fight the low economic status of NGM families by employing them in the cafe and sell some of our products in the artistry section of the cafe. Currently there is no cafe in Imphal that serves Brew coffee..so we are moving to serving authentic brew coffee as the unique side of the cafe with some other unique snacks alongside brewed tea and juices. We request Bright Hope World family to uphold this plan and upcoming activity in prayer.

10 Year Celebration

On March 10, we celebrated 10 years of NGM with some well-wishers of NGM. Friends from Shakshi Apologetics Network, Hyderabad came to help us with the seminar on "Understanding 'I' Worldview and Engaging with M's" and "How to respond to difficult questions M's ask?" The seminar is part of the ROTC training program as well and this time we trained more than 40 members from UESI/EU from medical universities and colleges including their state leaders and co-ordinators.

Training Missionaries

ROTC is following up with training missionaries for the third batch. This time it's being done in a different way because we are doing it as mobile training so that we can train more people than our usual 15 numbers and it can be based anywhere not necessarily at ROTC office. We trained 10 missionaries on March 8 and 9 at YWAM I. In continuation, I will be training another 30 missionaries and believers from MBBs at G on May 15-17. And the following batch will be within our district with missionaries of the A N Baptist Association. Continue to uphold that the training and mobilizing the churches and missionaries to join in reaching out to Ms with the Gospel of Jesus Christ will break through barriers and bring forth souls into God's Kingdom.

Evangelistic Fellowship

Tomorrow (April 22) evening we are conducting a follow-up evangelistic fellowship with new receptive Ms and seekers in C district (recently we started the new fellowship here). There are going to be 40 people altogether. I will be speaking the word of God. Three interns from SAIACS are here with me and will help us as well. We will be showing testimonial videos from Egypt and other M countries. Please pray that the receptive Ms there at the meeting will make their decision and accept the truth of the Gospel. NGM is sponsoring the evening meal for this event as part of our budget for evangelism.

I think, as of now I have updated with some important points. I am truly sorry if I have not updated often on what is going on here and its been so long that I have been waiting for this moment to write and I did not get it. I am sending regards from all of us here and assuring that Bright Hope World, NZ and others around the world are always in our prayers.
